Mack A. Brown

Mack retired from Lorillard Tobacco where he was known as “Happy”, and was a lifetime member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 6869 Shiloh Road, Liberty, NC with Rev. David Hiatt and Rev. Chuck Marbry, Jr. officiating; burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from

7:00 – 9:00 pm at Loflin Funeral Home in Liberty.

He was born on August 14, 1920 to J.F. and Margrett Fields Brown, and was also preceded in death by his sisters, Eva Garrett and Helen Harris;

brothers, Kinston (Buck) Brown, James Brown, Murphy Brown, Laster Brown.

Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Maxine Brown; daughters, Cathy Hiatt (Jamie) of Thomasville and Barbara Williams (Rick) of Liberty;

4 grandchildren, Michael Williams, Sharon W. Brown, David Hiatt (Mae) and Jeremy Hiatt; and brother, Frank Brown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, PO Box 774, Liberty, NC 27298.

The family would like to say thank you to the compassionate caregivers at Clapp’s Nursing Center in Pleasant Garden, as well as to those who came into their home.
