Obituary of Martha Frances May Coble

After several years of declining health, Martha “Frances” May Coble, age 85, of Julian, North Carolina completed her journey here on earth on Thursday, January 20, 2022. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Coble's Lutheran Church; burial will follow in the church cemetery. Frances will lie in repose one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary for visitors to pay their respects. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Frances was a lifelong, devoted and faithful member of Coble’s Lutheran Church. Her Sunday School class was her extended family. She was a member of the Friendly Circle. Her family was loved and was the brightest part of her days. She was a retired furniture industry worker; working for Liberty Chair, Marsh Cabinets, Thomasville Furniture and Hooker Furniture. Frances loved working in her flowers, which was an extension of her love of God and nature. She loved the flowers’ beauty and getting her hands dirty. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Cecil & Anna Vesta Reynolds May and was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Winfred Cleo Coble; brothers, Worth May, C. H. May, Joe May; and sisters, Betty May Glasgow, and Pearl May Coble. Frances is survived by children, Timothy W. (Teresa) Coble, Brooks (Angie) Coble; Della Coble (Darrell) Clapp; grandchildren: Amanda Coble (Nick) Wiggs, Heather Coble (Aaron) Watson, Tim Coble, Matthew (Brooke) Clapp, Mark Clapp, Ethan Coble, Garrett Coble; great-grandchildren: Zack Mobley, Logan & Lela Watson, Payton & Colton Wiggs, Elizabeth May Clapp; sister, Rachel May Garrett; brother, Paul (Mary) May; and a host of special nieces & nephews Memorial contributions may be made to Coble’s Lutheran Church, 5200 Coble Church Road, Julian, NC 27283.
