Mildred was a 1957 graduate of Cobb Memorial High School. She was an avid gardener and a loving grandmother who gave selflessly as a volunteer with the Liberty Cub Scout Troop #502; and she enjoyed volunteering at the Liberty Senior Center.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at The Loflin Funeral Home Chapel; burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening, May 8, 2021 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home of Liberty.
She was the daughter of the late William Alfred “Jack” and Beulah Esther Lawrence Hammock and was also preceded in death by her son, William Edward “Billy” Mabry; grandson, Michael Evan Mabry; and great-granddaughter, Mckayla Mabry Davis.
Mildred is survived by her daughters, Carole M. Layton (Alan Shatto) and Rebecca M. Law (Jeff); sons, Alton Ray Mabry, Jr. and Robert Dale Mabry (Tricia); sister, Gertrude “Trudy” Hammock Coble (Raymond); brother, Edward Delano Hammock (Edith); grandchildren, Jennifer Bietzel, Robert Dale “DJ” Mabry Jr., Joseph William “Joey” Coble and Billy Scott Law; and great-grandchildren, Savannah Davis, Dakota Davis, Ava Mabry, Annalaya Coble, and Wesley Mabry.
The family wishes to express their most sincere gratitude to Hospice of the Piedmont and especially wishes to thank Michelle Rogers, Kristy Blakely and Rosemary Williams for the kind and compassionate care shown to Mildred during her illness.
