She was the daughter of the late Paul Thomas and Vallie Butler Ray and was also preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Ray Smith and Peggy Ray Edwards; and brother, Kelly Vance Ray.
Surviving is her daughter, Beth Staley Shipman and her husband, Scott; son, Terrell Staley and his wife, Donna; grandchildren, Nathaniel Shipman, Madison Shipman Locke (Sid), Bryson Staley, and Dalton Staley; and great-granddaughter, Adalyn Rae Locke.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home of Liberty, 212 W. Swannanoa Avenue, Liberty, NC. A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Liberty, NC.
