The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Kilgroe Funeral Home, 1750 Ashville Road, Leeds, AL from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Kilgroe Funeral Home beginning at 12:00 p.m. with a graveside to follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, 623 Co Road 2, Boaz, AL.

She was the daughter of the late David Henry and Amanda Elizabeth Weaver Herring and was also preceded in death by her husbands, Jim Edmondson and William Triplett; siblings, Manon Herring, Memphis Herring, Bernice Herring Reeves, Eunice Herring Landford, Van Herring, Anderson Herring, Carl A. Herring, Ollie Sue Herring Edmondson, Henry Herring, Mavis Ruth Herring Freeman, Iva Mae Herring Reed, and Irene Herring.

Ophelia is survived by her daughters, Linda Sue Calvert, Freida Elizabeth Edmondson, Brenda Jean Kormanec and husband, Mark; grandchildren, Gary Wilson, Kristina Gleisinger, Kelly McHenry, Daron Codner, Marshall Kormanec, April Kormanec; great-grandchildren, Kyle Slater, Hunter Hart, Tyler Gleisinger, and Brandon Gleisinger.

At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org.
