Ronald Lee Wicker

Ronald Lee Wicker, 74, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012. He was born in Alamance County and grew up in Liberty. He was a graduate of Liberty High School and Virginia Technical College; he retired from Hardin’s Wholesale Florist and Supply with 37 years of service. Ronald was a former member of the Julian Fire Department and the Julian Lions Club for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman and he enjoyed gardening, grilling and gatherings with family and friends. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August, 12, 2012 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 6103 Appomattox Road, Climax, N.C.; burial will follow in Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian, N.C.

Visitation will be held, Saturday, August 11, 2012 from

6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at The Loflin Funeral Home in Liberty.

He was the son of the late Howard Boyd Wicker, Sr. and Margaret Lourine Smith Wicker and was also preceded in death by his infant sister, Peggy Elaine Wicker; sister-in-law, Nancy Humble Wicker.

Surviving is his wife, Ethel Wicker; daughter, Tammy Flinchum and husband, Ed; grandsons, Justin and Joshua Flinchum; son, Ryan Wicker and wife, Sherri; and grandson, Ty Wicker; brothers, Ralph Wicker, Sr., and wife, Judy, H.B.

Wicker, Jr. and wife, Phyllis, Wayne Wicker, Ernest Wicker and wife, Rita; sisters, Juanita Tiger, Sallie Gardner and husband, Earl, Carolyn Sluter and husband, Jr.; aunt, Helen Uyliss and numerous nieces and nephews.
