

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Sunday, September 7, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Julian United Methodist Church, 2105 NC-62, Julian, NC. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Tabernacle Methodist Church Cemetery, 5721 Methodist Rd, Greensboro, NC.
Rosa was the daughter of the late Jacob Lafayette and Maggie Elizabeth Denny Murph and was also preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Louis Blackard, Sr.; son, Dorman Gunner Blackard; brother, John Murph; and sisters, Bessie Foster, Lena Faust, Jennie Davis, and Daisy Apple.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Andrew "Andy" Louis Blackard, Jr.; daughter, Janet Lea Blackard; grandchildren, Amanda Yannotti, Julie Caulder, Shane Kirkman (Brian), Kristen Martin (Gregory), Cindi Marshall, and Amaran Craig (Elliot); great-grandchildren, Maria Yannotti (Clay), Brandon Yannotti (Christin), Michael Yannotti (Claudia), Josh Robinson (Lauren), Justin Robinson (Cara), Somer Caulder, Karley Caulder, Bryson Kirkman, Devin Coleman, Rheannon Coleman, Connor Self, and Marion Craig; and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Rosa received her Nursing degree from Randolph Technical College at the top of her class. She worked at Moses Cone Hospital for 35 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She loved animals and was known for her caring nature. Rosa was always willing lend a helping hand to anyone in need. In her free time, she enjoyed doing crafts and she was an excellent seamstress. As a long time member of Julian United Methodist Church, Rosa was known as a woman of strong faith. She lived by the words, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you," from Matthew 7:12.
