The family will receive friends on Friday evening, June 14, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home of Liberty. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Austin officiating; burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She was the daughter of the late James Alton and Nora Jernigan Wilson and was also preceded in death by her husband, Theron Beasley and brothers, Tommy C. Wilson and James L. Wilson.
Surviving are her sons, Anthony Beasley and Wayne Beasley (Anne); sister, Betty Parker; grandchildren, Andy Beasley, Darren Beasley, Logan Beasley, Nathan Beasley, Hannah Beasley and Matthew Beasley; 10 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Beverly Wilson and Sue Wilson.
Shirley ran an in-home daycare for over 30 years. She had a profound love for children, a love that kept her connected throughout the years with many of the children that stayed with her. She was affectionately known as “Granny Shirley” and her loving spirit will live on through the many lives that she has touched.
At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina, PO Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27360.
