
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3901 Forest Lawn Drive, Greensboro.
Vallie was the daughter of the late Arthur and Daisy Calhoun Sartin and she was also preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Reece Gibson; daughters, Linda Joyce Littreal and Doris Ann Overman; son, Ronald Wayne Gibson; sisters,Mary Pauline Caperna, Gladys McClain and Dorothy Mitchell; and brothers, Norman Sartin, James Sartin and Howard Sartin.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Judy Gibson Mabe; sons, David Reece Gibson and Bobby Gene Gibson; grandchildren, Jeffrey Gibson, Melinda Coley, Alton Whitaker, Jr., Susan Whitaker, Barry Whitaker, Reece Gibson, Regan Moore, Elizabeth Gibson, Jacob Gibson, Gracie Gibson, Matthew Gibson, Tommy Guthrie and Penny Guthrie; and daughter-in-law, Margaret Gibson; and several great grandchildren.
Vallie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who dedicated her life to caring for those she loved. A hardworking homemaker, she found joy in keeping her home clean, organized, and welcoming. Vallie had a caring and generous heart and was always willing to look after others. She especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and took great joy in watching them grow. She was devoted to her mother, whom she lovingly cared for and shared a very close bond with. Her family will remember her for her dedication, kindness, and the love she so freely gave to those around her.
