Virginia Ann Meacham Fogleman

Virginia Ann Meacham Fogleman, 81, of Liberty passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Virginia was a graduate of Liberty High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Elon College. She taught at E.M. Holt Elementary School for 30 years, spending most of her time in the 3rd grade. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church. After retirement she enjoyed flower gardening and volunteering at The Liberty Senior Center where she had a good time playing countless hands of cards, exercising and participating in a variety of classes. Her travels took her all over the U.S. and Europe. She was a wonderful homemaker who loved spending time with her grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Christian Church and other times at the home of her son, Barry. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Christian Church with Rev. Howard Spray officiating; burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Virginia was the daughter of the late Thomas Jackson and Julia Ethel Thomas Meacham and was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Cecil James Fogleman; sister, Betty Britt; brothers, Garrett Meacham, James Meacham and David Meacham.

Surviving is her daughter, Kelly Beckner and her husband, Dewey; son, Barry Fogleman; brother, Thomas Meacham; grandchildren, Jake, Emily, Carly and Peyton Fogleman and Zachary Beckner; and great-grandchildren, Seth and Sarah Beckner.

The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to the medical teams at ARMC and the caregivers of Home Instead Senior Care of Alamance and Randolph Counties for all of their support and compassionate care over the past few weeks.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
