Nick was preceded in death by his beloved four-legged companion and "bestest friend", Tank.
He is survived by his mother, Angela Faye Johnson Kivett; father, William Moffitt "Rascal" Kivett (Gloria); sisters, Tina Trotter (Marty) and Jamie Yow (Lewis); brother, Ryan Kivett; maternal grandmother, Flora "Pud" Jordan; nieces and nephews, Ashlyn Lilly (Tripp), Kearns Trotter and Easton Yow whom he loved dearly and took great pride in.
Family meant everything to Nick. He was deeply compassionate and cared profoundly for those he loved, especially his family, friends, and his Marine Corps brothers and sisters. One of his most cherished relationships was with his beloved grandmother, "MawMaw Pud," with whom he spoke often and held close to his heart.
After graduating from Asheboro High School, Nick answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps in 2000. He completed boot camp at Parris Island, South Carolina, and went on to serve honorably during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Nick found joy in spending time at the lake, especially water skiing, and he was an avid sports fan who could always be counted on to cheer for the underdog. He never tired of watching The Andy Griffith Show and had seen every episode. He valued staying active and maintaining his fitness, going to the gym and exercising at home, even when it became challenging. Many may not have realized that Nick also had a creative spirit, which he expressed through his thoughtful writing and artistic drawings.
