Alfred was born in Melrose Massachusetts to Marjorie and Harry L Garrant on November 6, 1941. He graduated from Malden High School in 1961. Al married Marylee Collins in April of 1971. He worked as a firefighter for over 30 years and retired from the Melrose Fire Department at Engine 1 on Main Street. He also served his country in the Army and was a medic. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, woodworking, and spending time with his family.
Alfred is preceded in death by his wife Marylee Garrant and his brother Paul Garrant.
Alfred is survived by his oldest daughter Cheryl Lessard and husband Aran Lessard, his younger daughter Julie Garrant, his older brother Robert Garrant and wife Susan Garrant, his sister Claire Hurley, and also his lovely granddaughter’s Olivia Lessard and Ava Garrant.
