Anita Maria Ruff

Anita was born in Klagenfurt, Austria in 1943. She graduated from Handelsakademie Klagenfurt and still met with her classmates regularly. She married Frank Ruff in Toronto, Canada. Together they built multiple companies, ultimately moving to Florida to start a wheel store, Good Roads. Anita was an avid tennis player, starting in Oakland Park in the 1980’s and moving to the Lighthouse Point Tennis Center in the 1990’s. She was a small but mighty doubles competitor, a regular in the ladies morning groups, and also partnered with her grandson Thomas in the Parent/kid doubles to win the championship.

Anita is preceded in death by her husband Frank.

Anita is survived by her son Ken (Leslie), daughter Jennifer (Myles), grandchildren Thomas, Kenny, Alex and Emma, partner Theo, brother-in-law Josef, and dearly held extended family in Canada and Austria.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, located at 4650 N Federal Highway, Lighthouse Point, FL 33064, on January 16, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

A Celebration of Life will also take place at the same venue on January 16, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
