Bruce D. Grigsby

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Bruce Grigsby, who left us on May 18, 2024, at the age of 67.  Bruce passed with his wife Diane and family at his side during his final moment. 

Bruce was known for his love of life, especially when it came to family and spending time on the water.  As an avid boater and fisherman, Bruce’s favorite place was at the helm of his boat.  He truly loved fishing whether in fresh water at Lake Okeechobee, the 10,000 Islands or in the deep ocean. Fishing took him from the Outer Banks to the Bahamas and South America.  Bruce loved to entertain, both at home and on his boat. He and Diane were known to many as the ultimate hosts.

A native Floridian, Bruce was born and raised in Broward County, attended South Plantation High School and BCC where he received his business degree.   Bruce met the love of his life Diane on a blind date 31 years ago, was married on the beach in 2004 at the Cheeca Lodge in Islamorada. The “Cheeca” and Islamorada remained a special place for them, as they returned to the marinas there often over the years for vacations or long weekends.  

Bruce had a successful career in the world of finance for many years and was Director of Institutional Sales for Mesirow Financial since 1996. 

Bruce was looking forward to his Miami Dolphins going to the Superbowl. Like many of his fellow Dolfans, he would always say “maybe this is the year”.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Diane Zane Grigsby, sisters Susan McMillon and Lou Ann Thalacker, along with in-laws Carol Grigsby, (Wade -D)  Marlene (Zane) (Joe -D ) Teshka, Kenny & Kathy Zane, Kathleen (Zane) & Marty Kling and Lawrence & Kathy Zane and was adored by 16 nieces & nephews and 13 great nieces & nephews.   Preceded in death were Bruce’s parents Ben & Mildred (Berton) Grigsby, brother Wade Grigsby, sister Lori Ekland and daughter Taneesha Maus.
