

Born October 16, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas to Calvin Owen Carter and Cynthia McClain Carter. Eric’s life was shaped by global experiences. As the son of a U.S. Air Force Officer, he spent his early years living and studying in cities around the world. That adventurous spirit continued into adulthood, with Eric living internationally and in the United States in his later years.
Eric proudly served in both the U. S. Navy and the U. S. Coast Guard. A skilled avionics expert, he played a key role in search and rescue operations and was highly respected for his technical expertise. His love of technology continued throughout his life. He was an award winning Elite volunteer HP expert and certified drone enthusiast. He was appreciated and known as the Carter Family IT Specialist.
Beyond his professional and technical pursuits, Eric found joy in fishing and riding motorcycles and studying languages. He was a true polyglot, fluent in Spanish, Dutch and German.
Eric Owen Carter is preceded in death by his parents Calvin and Cynthia Carter.
He is survived by his siblings Yvonne Carter (William) Bridges, Lisa (Lebron) Morgan, Steven (Mary) Carter; his son Juan Gonzales; nephews Vincent (Peta-Gay) Baldwin, Derek Bridges, Sean Carter and Spenser Carter; nieces Cynthia Morgan and Taylor Morgan; his aunt, Arna Jones; and many cherished cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a future date at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida. Arrangements are by Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services.
The family of Eric Carter extends our sincere thanks to all who have offered condolences and support. Eric was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
