Felipe Romano, beloved husband, father, grandfather, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 3rd, surrounded by love.
Born in Cuba, Felipe’s remarkable journey carried him across continents. He emigrated to Italy as a young man and latter attended the New York Military Academy, an experience that shaped his strength of character and enduring discipline. It was the very last day of the 1965 World’s Fair in New York City where he met the love of his life, Nina DeSimone. Together, they built a marriage that spanned 58 years – anchored in devotion, travel, adventure, and an unshakable bond.
The Romanos eventually made their home in South Florida, where Felipe became known for his warms, wit and humor but also for his deep appreciation of life’s finer things. A passionate collector of art and wine and an avid world traveler, Felipe lived with curiosity and grace, always eager to explore and its stories
Felipe is survived by his loving wife Nina, his son Dominic “Nico” Romano, daughter-in-law Katie, and four cherished grandchildren: Giuliana, Filippo “Luca”, Isabella, and Emma-each of who will carry forward his legacy of love, curiosity, and resilience.
Felipe Romano’s life was a mosaic of places, passions, and people. He will be remembered with deep affection by all who knew him.
