Jerry was truly a loving follower of Christ. His every action & word attested to his faith. Although I didn’t know him long, I feel blessed to have met him. I’m so glad he & my Aunt were able to enjoy life & each other his last few years. You’ll always have a place in my heart Jerry. RIP 

To say goodbye to Jerry is a tough one. I am so grateful he became my Aunt’s best pal these last few years - our family could not have asked for a kinder soul for her to spend time with. Jerry was always pleasant and smiling, and most of all - a true gentleman. In the short time I’ve known him, I have only fond memories of him, whether it was breakfast, lunch, dinner, a party, a game of pool, or just plain-old anytime, Jerry brought his smile and positive attitude. Genuine people are hard to come by these days, Jerry is one of them though.  I will miss you Jerry, my only regret is that we didn’t have more time with you. Rest in Heavenly Peace, we love you and we’ll miss you. Thank you for being you! 

I’ve known Gerry for only a few short years since he became my aunt Marie’s companion. I am very saddened by his passing. Gerry had a heart of gold and was loved by all who made his acquaintance, he will surely be missed by all, especially my auntie Marie. He was very involved with his church and he loved helping others in any way he could. Rest In Peace my friend!

I’m Jerry’s surviving sister and he has a surviving brother, Joe Smith. There are some things you should know about my brother, he was married to Gwen Stolle and she passed away 3 years ago. He was an avid Cubs fan. At the age of 82 he was a greeter at the Super Bowl. He belonged to the Coastal Community Church and won a 24/7 award 2 years in a row as a greeter Jerry loved his church and loved helping people and the people loved him.  He was lucky to find a special friend to spend his last years with. He spent a lot of time baking pies and cakes with his friend and sending me pictures of their pastries. I will miss this. I will miss him and so will many people. I will see you again, I love you. 

I remember when Uncle Jerry came to stay with us after he got out of the Army. I was just a kid. He didn't stay long. I didn't see him often over the years but did take my Grandma Smith, his mom, to see him and Gwen and Sherry before they moved to Florida. He was definitely part of my childhood and I will always remember him.

I didn’t know Gerry for very long, had few interactions with him as he greeted me and my family on our way to church. I wished I had interacted with him more. The thing is no matter how little of I knew Gerry, every time I saw him I thought to my self, what an example of service to our lord. Always smiling and being so nice. As a brother of mine that knew Gerry way better then I did simply put it, Gerry is greeting everyone who is coming into Heaven as we speak and that is beautiful. Fought the good fight and is now resting with our Lord and Savior. Rest easy Brother. You will be missed.
