Gerhard Heinz Paegen

Gerhard was born on April 14, 1927 in Bochum, Germany to Gerhard Paefgen and Maria Henkel. Gerhard met his late wife, Irmgard Paegen, in Germany. The two were married in 1952 and were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Doris. Gerhard and Irmgard relocated to Hershey, PA where they spent the remainder of their 42-year marriage, until the passing of Irmgard in 1994.

Gerhard worked for over 20 years as a Service Manager for Brenner Motors in Harrisburg, PA. He is described by family as a "car-guy" who had a passion for porsches and motorcycles. In November 2004, Gerhard met Ellie Mero who would become his longtime companion for 15 years. 

Gerhard is preceded in death by his parents, Gerhard and Maria Paefgen, his sister Marianne Laacks, and his late wife Irmgard Paegen. 

Gerhard is survived by his loving daughter, Doris Krzykwa, his longtime companion, Ellie Mero, grand-daughter, Julie Krzykwa, and niece Kirsten Flegel (Todd).

A graveside service was held on Monday, March 2, 2020 in Hershey, PA where Gerhard was laid to rest next to his late wife, Irmgard Paegen.
