

Jack Jeffrey Hawk passed away July 17, 2021 in Lighthouse Point, FL. He was born in Shelby, Ohio, January 27, 1954, to Orin Hawk and Mildred (Millie Hawk), both deceased. Jack lived in Florida most of his life, residing Lighthouse Point for over 35 years.
He is survived by his children, Shelbie Hawk and Curtis Hawk and his step-children, Tiffany Megyeri and Bryan Devlin. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Maddie Hawk-Russow and Emmy Hawk-Russow, and his siblings: Cheryl (Malcolm) McKinney, Loretta (Steve) Adkins and Mickey (Janet) Hawk. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as several close friends.
Jack graduated from Deerfield Beach High School in 1972, where he played baseball and basketball. He obtained his Associates in Arts degree from Broward County Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from Florida A&M in 1981, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and then a Masters of Arts in Architecture from University of Florida in 1982, graduating Cum Laude.
Jack had over 35 years of combined construction and architecture experience. He was an accomplished architect, serving as the Principal in Charge at Hawk, Fulwider & Associates architecture firm in Deerfield Beach since 1990. Prior to that, Jack was an architect at Slattery-Root Architects in Boca Raton. Jack designed many notable properties around South Florida, including the renovation of the Deerfield Beach City Hall and the renovation of the Deerfield Beach International Pier.
Jack loved to golf, especially at the Crystal Lake Country Club, regularly spending time on the course. He enjoyed fishing with his dad in his younger years, teasing his mom and eating M & Ms. Jack was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns and Indians and a fan of the University of Florida Gators. He was a dedicated fan of the Miami Heat, spending many fun games there with his son, Curtis. And, he adored spending time with Shelbie and his granddaughters.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Wednesday July 28, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 4650 N. Federal Highway, Lighthouse Point, FL 33064, where a service to Celebrate Jack's life will commence at 6:00 p.m.
