Jennifer was born in Des Plaines, Illinois to Yvonne Sargent and Edwin Barney on September 29, 1967. She married James S. Rink on January 23, 1993 in Barrington, Illinois. In addition to being a devoted mother of three, she was a talented photographer and creative. She also loved working with children as a pre-school teacher at Mary Help of Christians Catholic School, among others. Jennifer was an avid supporter of the arts, and she was integral in establishing the Ft. Lauderdale chapter of Sofar Sounds.
Jennifer is preceded in death by her parents, Yvonne Sargent and Edwin Barney, as well as her brother, Christopher Barney.
Jennifer is survived by her husband, James S. Rink, her children, James F. Rink, Brooke Rink, and Gabriella Rink, and her brothers, Jeffrey Barney and Andrew Barney.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on February 1, 2025 at St. Coleman Catholic Church. A celebration of life will follow at Galuppi’s until 4:30 p.m.
