

Juan J. Fumia, 81, passed away on April 3, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Born on June 24, 1943, in Montevideo, Uruguay, Juan brought with him a vibrant spirit and deep cultural pride that remained with him throughout his life.
A man of boundless energy and joy, Juan was known for his contagious sense of humor and zest for life. His home was often filled with the rhythmic sounds of Candombe drums as he played alongside friends during his beloved Uruguayan-style BBQs. These gatherings were more than meals—they were celebrations of culture, friendship, and community.
Juan’s passion for his Uruguayan heritage was evident in everything he did. He found great joy in music and dance, especially during Carnaval festivities that brought people together in colorful celebration. Whether playing pool or shooting darts, cheering on a soccer match, or simply enjoying good company and laughter, Juan embraced every moment with enthusiasm.
Those who knew him will remember his generosity and the warmth he extended to family and friends alike. He had a unique ability to make others feel welcome and valued—his presence lit up any room he entered.
