Marion Fred McGill, Jr.

Fred was born in Knox County, TN, on October 2, 1938.  He was best loved for his wit and storytelling and was always glad to share his tales with anyone who would listen.  Fred and P.Kay made lasting memories as they traveled together to 49 states during their 54 years of marriage. 

If you were ever looking for Fred, he could be found working on the house, fishing, hunting, or at the race track.  He served in the Marines and was a dedicated employee at Greenstein Trucking Company for 42 years. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and sister. 

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Patricia “P.Kay”;  son Mitch (Scherice) McGill of Crescent City, FL;  daughter Michele (Steve) Davis of Pompano Beach, FL;  daughter Mari (Scotty) Owens of Crofton, KY;  sister Christina (Chris) Helmuth of Jasper, AR;  four grandchildren:  Marisa, Deena, Rylee and Peyton; nephews Mike, Sam, Cameron; and niece Emma.

The family is grateful for all those who have reached out in the last few months and days.  They are comforted by so many kind words and hope Fred will stay alive through the memories and stories told by family and friends.   

There will be a Memorial Gathering held on Tuesday, 6-8-2021 from 5-7 PM with the Memorial Service immediately following from 7-8 PM at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 4650 N. Federal Highway, Lighthouse Point, FL  33064.
