

age 70, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025. Marylou was driven by a passion to help others and lived by the belief that the world could always use one more kind-hearted person. She brought a calm, quiet and reassuring presence to those she encountered – family, friends, and colleagues alike. Often offering comfort and an encouraging word, she always met others with kindness. She will be remembered for her generous spirit and unwavering faith.
Marylou, a graduate of the Lutheran Medical Center School of Nursing, was a very dedicated nurse and nurse manager at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio and Florida for over 40 years. Through her long and impactful career, she became a respected leader and mentor to many. Marylou’s legacy will live on not only in the patients she cared for but also in the countless nurses, doctors, and others she guided and inspired throughout her career. She leaves behind a profound impact on the healthcare community that will be felt for generations.
Marylou, born in Cleveland, Ohio, is the beloved wife of Roy Shelley, loving sister of Louis Schreiner, Jr. (Lynn), Lynn Schreiner, and Lisa Csensich (Peter); and sister-in-law of Patricia Schaffer (Laszlo) and Jacqueline Bush (Robert, deceased). Devoted aunt of Amy Strmac (Mike), Staci Schreiner-Vetrick, Ashley Quinn (Robert), Erin Caimi (Brian), Danielle Pariano (Mark), Carli Csensich, Christpher Van Dalinda (Kelly), Lisa Napora, Shelley Mazzoca, Scott Bush (Erika) and Todd Bush(Casey), and loving Great Aunt, Godmother, cousin and friend of many.
Marylou was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Mary Schreiner (nee Toledo) and Roy’s parents Robert and Helen Margaret “Peg” (nee Stratton) Shelley.
A Visitation will be held at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, located at 4650 N Federal Highway, Lighthouse Point, FL, 33064, on October 10, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A funeral mass will take place at St. Coleman Catholic Church, located at 1200 S Federal Hwy, Pompano Beach, Florida, 33062, on October 11, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
A committal service will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, located at 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, Florida, 33064, on October 11, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
