Born in Lakewood, Ohio on 8/31/1941, Richard (aka “Dick”) spent most of his life in the Sunshine State, where he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. A true Floridian, he was an avid lover of the outdoors, often seen cruising on his boat, revving the engine of one of his beloved motorcycles, or enjoying a drive in one of his classic cars. His passion for these hobbies was matched only by his deep admiration for the strong, independent women he encountered throughout his life.
Dick was a free spirit, known for his infectious energy and unwavering zest for life. His larger-than-life personality and love for adventure made him a cherished figure among family, friends, and those lucky enough to cross his path. Whether it was a spontaneous road trip, a day out on the water, or just enjoying a good conversation, he made every moment count.
He is survived by daughters: Jessica Gallagher & Johanna Gallagher, his grandchildren: Sebastian, Stefano, Jenna, Sasha & Joshua. He was preceded in death by his parents: James & Rena Gallagher.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal funeral or celebration of life. He will be cremated and his ashes will be scattered in the ocean, where he found so much peace and joy throughout his life, and his family will carry forward his memory in the quiet moments shared among loved ones. We invite all who knew him to honor his life in their own personal way.
Rest in peace, Dad. Your love of life, laughter, and adventure will live on in our hearts forever.
