

Alfred William Mines, II, 30 of Wichita, Kansas died Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at his residence. He was born on August 24, 1983 in Lima to Alfred and Larcenie (Gibson) Mines and they survive in Okinawa, Japan. On November 19, 2002 he married Mary Smith and she survives him at Whiteman AFB in Johnson County, Missouri.
Alfred is also survived by his children, Alary and Myara Mines of Whiteman AFB Johnson County, Missouri, a brother, Travon (Sakura) Mines of Okinawa, Japan, numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins and a niece. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a cousin, Michael Ray Gibson.
He was a member of the U.S. Air Force trained in Firefighting. He had been attending Butler Community College in Wichita, Kansas studying to be an Anesthesiologist. He loved music and occasionally made his own beats. Alfred was a ‘people person’, he loved helping people and enjoyed making people laugh.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME, Lima, Ohio with Pastor Dennis Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery where Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by Air Force Honor Guard and VFW Post 1275.
Calling hours will be Thursday May 22, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME.
