

Betty J. Scott, 90 of Lima passed away 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, May 7, 2013 at the Friendship Village of Columbus. She is survived by two children, Pam (Tom) Miller of Bluffton, Indiana, and Rod (Pam) Scott of Reynoldsburg, Ohio. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Lauren Scott of Columbus; Micah (Alix) Scott of Columbus; Tara Miller of Indianapolis; Rachel Miller of Denver; and Scott Miller of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Beryl Monroe; her husband, John; and her sister, Virginia Brown.
As a youth Betty grew up in Venedocia, Ohio, she graduated from York High School and moved to Lima to work at Jack’s cafeteria. She married John Scott on April 11, 1946. Betty was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, she was a stay at home mother, a frequent pool volunteer at the YWCA, and an avid swimmer and water skier. She was an incredible homemaker, a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
Funeral Service will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2013 at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home with Pastor MaryAnn Tomlinson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Family and friends may call Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home.
