Carolyn Josephine Valentine Schauweker

Carolyn J. Schauweker, 89 of Lima passed away 3:08 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2012 at St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was born on April 16, 1923 in Lima to Elmer H. and Mary C. (Campbell) Valentine and they preceded her in death. On July 16, 1949 she married Howard H. Schroeder and he passed away June 11, 1957.

Mrs. Schauweker is survived by her daughter, Mary Anne (Milton) Webb of Lima, two stepsons, James (Marilyn) Schroeder of Canada and Gerald M. (Dinny)Schroeder of Harbor Beach, MI. She is also survived by a grandson: Joshua Boggs. Along with her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Roger E. Valentine.

She was a 1940 graduate of Lima Central High School and Northwestern Business College and had attended Miami University and Ohio State University. Carolyn was an executive secretary for the Lima Tank Depot, Lima Locomotive Works and also for Lima Superior Coach Corp. For over 20 years she operated Carolyn’s Secretarial Service. She was a life long member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She had been a loyal worker for the Allen County Election Board for many years.

Carolyn was a beloved mother and grandmother, she was a loyal and devoted friend to many.

Funeral Services will be held 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2012 at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home with Pastor David Harris officiating. Her cremains will be buried in Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.

Family and friends may call Friday, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 6:00 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home.
