Catherine Rose Kessler Kondas

Catherine Rose Kondas, 82 of Elida passed away surrounded by her loving family at 5:38 p.m. Monday afternoon October 11, 2010 at SRMC. She was born April 5, 1928 in Painesville, Ohio to John & Mary (Paulosko) Kessler and they preceded her in death. On July 31, 1948 she married Robert J. Kondas, Sr and he survives.

Catherine volunteered as a Catechism teacher at St. Patrick’s in Kent, then at Sts. Peter and Paul in Doylestown and also at St. Mary’s in Defiance. She was the receptionist for Rod Brown Photography in Defiance and was employed at Ray’s Supermarket as the Deli Manager. She was also a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Kondas was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, the Lima Eagles Aerie # 370 Aux and the Lima Elks # 54. She was a member of the Oaks Golf Club where she loved playing golf.

She is survived by her children: Robert J. (Cindi) Kondas, Jr of Elida, David J. (Sharmaine) Kondas of Defiance, Cynthia (Jon) Stadman of Spain, Betsy Daves of Houston, TX, Susan K. (Rick) Auer of Colorado. She is survived by eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a step brother: Rudy (Helen) Kessler of Painesville and a step sister: Betty Cashin of Cleveland.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers: William Kessler and Larry Kessler.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 15 at St. Charles Catholic Church with entombment to follow in Gethsemani Cemetery.

Friends and family can call Thursday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home and an hour prior to the Funeral Mass on Friday. A Parish Wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
