OBITUARY

CLARETHA ROBINSON COLE

June 19, 1938-January 27, 2019

Claretha was born on June 19, 1938, in Crittenden County, Arkansas to Clarence Robinson and Eunice Kirkwood Robinson. She was the fourth of six children: Mary Ella, Rosie Lee, Willie B., Edward W., and Carrie, but was raised with many others who she came to know and care for as family even though there was no biological connection. That was the way of life for the sharecroppers living on Rosebud Island. She passed away on January 27, 2019, having lived a long and beautiful life. She came to Christ at an early age and was a long-time member and faithful servant of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Austin Lewis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Cole, Jr.; her sister, Mary Ella Andrews; her brothers, Willie B. Robinson and Edward W. Robinson; her son, Robert Lee Morris; and two stepsons, Chester Cole and Thomas Cole. She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Jonathan (Linda) Hollingsworth; five grandchildren: Christopher Michael (Bess) Daniel, Kimberly Denise Daniel, Demetrius Jonathan (Maria) Gibson, Jonathan Bradford A. (Niki) Hollingsworth, and Natasha Renee (Matt) Hollingsworth-Hazen; ten great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Elysse, Caiden, Jamison, Saqqara, CJ, Asa, Cree, Caleb, and Cain; two sisters, Rosie Lee Clay and Carrie McClure, both of West Memphis, Arkansas; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Robinson Sallis, of Memphis, Tennessee; and a host of nieces and nephews, a few of whom deserve special mention because they were the “daughters” she never birthed: Loretha (“Rita”) Gray Hunter, Bobbie Lee Armstead, Helen Barber Smith, and Sandra K. Wilson.

Memorial services will be held at Philippian Missionary Baptist Church, 190 E. 8th Street, Lima, Ohio 45804, under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Dr. B. LaMont Monford, Sr., beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019. Rev. Monford will officiate and Bishop Michael Robinson will do the eulogy. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, 1751 Spencerville Road, Lima, Ohio 45805.

The wake will be on Friday, February 1, 2019, from 6-8 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, 506 N. Cable Road, Lima, Ohio 45805.

Condolences may be expressed at www.siferd-oriansfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, you may consider a donation to the American Cancer Society.
