

Dean was born on July 30, 1938, in West Newton, Ohio to George W. & Betty J. (Wireman) Young. In 1956 he graduated from Harrod High School. On June 7, 1957 he married Loretta “Lori” Huber, who preceded him in death on September 7, 1989. On February 25, 1992, he married Kathy Rode who survives him.
He is also survived by his two daughters Kathy (Jim) DeMoss of Lima, Kelly Ray, of Elida, a step daughter, Kecia (Shannon) Rose of Delphos, his grandchildren, Brooke (Rod) Dudgeon, Lindsay (Erik) Wollenhaupt, Ashley Ray, Whitney (Ethan) Burkhart, Aaron Ray and Gregory Rose; his great grandchildren, Lori, Brady, Kenzie Bassett, Luke Wollenhaupt, and a step great-grandchild, Shawn Burkhart, and his sister Margaret “Bobbi” Beggin of Lima.
Dean was preceded in death by his first wife Loretta “Lori,” and his parents.
Dean attended Lima Community Church, he was a member of the F.O.E. #370 in Lima, the Moose Lodge #1533 in Indian Lake, and was a lifetime member of the Shriners. He was an insurance adjuster for many years at Dugan-Mulcahy & Seifert Insurance Co. and later, was co-owner of Kenny’s Auto Wrecking. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, telling jokes, and attending his grandchildren’s events. Dean will be remembered as a person who dearly loved his family and friends.
His funeral service will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015, at 11:00 A.M at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home with Revs. Gerbert Darlington, and grandson Aaron Ray officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida. Visitations will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015, from 6 to 8 P.M., and Friday, January 23, 2015, from 2 to 8 P.M in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
