

Doneta E. Ballard, age 86, passed away at 1:05 a.m., on Monday, March 14, 2016, at Richland Manor Nursing Home. She was born April 16, 1929, in Lima, to Edward and E. Lois (Carmean) Stewart who preceded her in death.
She was married to Martin G. Courtney (dec’d), and they were the parents of three sons: David Courtney, Daniel (Teresa-dec’d) Courtney and James (Michele) Courtney. On December 2, 1970, she married Donald Lee Ballard (dec’d), and with that, brought four more children to her family; Daryl Lou Clark, Donald Lee (Deb) Ballard, Jr., Jeffrey (dec’d) Ballard and Gregory (Marlene) Ballard. She also is survived by her grandchildren: Kimberly Baker, Ryan Courtney, Justin Courtney, Sarah (Luke Cox) Gerdeman and Alex Courtney; and three great-grandchildren: Blake Parent, Corey Parent and Isabelle Gerdeman; and the following step grandchildren: Michael Clark, Robert Clark, Jacob Ballard, Dexter Ballard, Paxton Ballard, Joshua Ballard and Justin Ballard. She was the sister of Robert (Betty) Stewart. She was preceded in death by her brothers Norman (Shirley) Stewart and Donald (Katie) Stewart who are all deceased.
Mrs. Ballard was employed from 1970 until 1991 at the Huntington National Bank from where she retired as a loan officer. She was a 1947 graduate of Lima Central High School. She had attended First Baptist Church and loved to golf and travel around the country.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ballard will begin at 12 Noon on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim Benjamin, officiating.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 16 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
