Doreen M Hanrahan Stewart

Doreen M. Stewart, 88 of Lima passed away Monday, January 10 at 5:50 p.m. at SRMC. She was born on March 30, 1922 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa to William and Kathleen (Mitchell) Hanrahan and they preceded her in death. On Nov 6, 1943, she married Harold T. Stewart and he survives her in Lima, Ohio.

Mrs. Stewart is also survived by her children: twins: Jim (Lynda) Stewart and Kathy Cronican both of Lima; Dan (Cindy) Stewart of Wolcottville, IN, Pat (Lorna) Stewart of Lima, Mary Beth (Gary) Timmons of Loveland, OH, Sheila (Matt) Hoffmann of Columbus, Diane (Harry) Marshall of Elida, Bill (Cheryl) Stewart of Columbus and Karen (Brad) Huston of Wilder, Kentucky. She was also survived by twenty two grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and a brother: Bill (Clare) Hanrahan of Milwaukee, WI.

Doreen retired from Duff Truck Lines as an office worker and later worked for R.A. Flynn and Sons. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, the Ladies VFW Aux. Post 1275, the Allen County Women’s Democratic Club, the Daughters of Isabella, Our Lady of Fatima Circle # 810, the Lima Elks Lodge # 54, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aux. 370. She loved her children and grandchildren and was a great bridge player. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

Along with Doreen’s parents she was preceded in death by a brother: Donald Hanrahan and a son-in-law: Paul V. Cronican.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011 at St. Rose Catholic Church with Father David Ross as celebrant. Burial will follow in Gethsemani Cemetery. A Parish wake will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 7 p.m.

Friends and family of the Stewarts may call on Friday January 14 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home 506 N. Cable Rd. Lima, Ohio.
