

Elaine M. Goulet, 69, of Lima, passed away at 6:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016, in her residence surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with Multiple System Atrophy. She was born to the late Gerard and Lucille (Plasse) Morin on January 30, 1947 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. On April 23, 1966, she married Richard Goulet who survives in Lima. She was the love of his life and they would have been married fifty years next month.
She is also survived by her sister, Diane Taylor of Lincoln, RI; four daughters: Laurie (Goulet) Milano of Wapakoneta, Lisa (Kelly Basham) Shafer and Lynne (Michael) Vieira both of Lima and Stacey (Randy) Hoover of Jacksonville, FL; a son, Gerry (Tracy) Goulet of Wapakoneta; fifteen grandchildren: Brianna and Zachary Milano, Cortney (Mitch) Hooks, Amanda Fox, Evan Shafer, Ashlynn, Adam and Abby Vieira, Leah (Matt) Fincher, Jazmine Bradshaw, Gabby Graber, Landon Hoover, Taylor, Collin and Braeden Goulet; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, George Desaulniers, and her husband’s parents, Paul and Grace Goulet.
Mrs. Goulet attended Lima Missionary Baptist Church. She was formerly employed at New Vision Medical Laboratories as a medical transcriptionist; at St. Rita’s Medical Center in the medical records department; and at the former Oaks Care Center as a medical records clerk. She was a member of AARP.
Services for Mrs. Goulet will begin at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, March 23, at Lima Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Terry Brock officiating.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 2-4, and 6-8 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at Lima Missionary Baptist Church.
