Helen Ruth Lindsey Liles

Helen Ruth Liles, 80, of Lima passed away 5:20 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2016 at her residence. She was born on October 25, 1935 in Eufaula, Alabama to Miam Watson, Sr and Frances (Avery) Lindsay and they preceded her in death. On Aug. 17, 1958 she married Jimmie Lee Liles, Sr. and he passed away January 15, 1977.

Helen was a Homemaker, she was a member of the 11th Street Missionary Baptist Church, where she was an active member, a member of the usher board and of the church’s choir. She was also the mother of the Fresh World Temple.

Mrs. Liles is survived by her children: Helen Jean Lumpkins of Findlay, Vanessa Liles of Columbus, GA, Jerry Liles of Lima, Lindsey (Marcella) Liles of Lima, Matilda Liles of Lima, Shirley Liles of Columbus, OH, Sheila (Kenny Dorn) Banks of Lima, Marvin Liles of Lima, Gary E. (Marlene) Liles of Lima, Demond Liles of Lima, Cecilia Liles of Charlotte, NC, LaShane Liles of Lima and Michael (Joy) Liles of Lima. She proudly boasts over a hundred grandchildren, over sixty great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is also survived by a sister, Ruthie (Joe) Glenn and a niece Beatrice Peoples.

Helen was preceded in death by a son, Jimmie Liles, Jr; her siblings: Emma, Annie Mae, Sylvester, Essie Mae, Annarine, Mary Lee, Edward, Garfield, Leroy, Miam Watson Lindsay, Jr and Willie Murray.

Funeral services will be held 12 Noon, Friday, January 8, 2016 at the 11th Street Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Toney, officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Family and friends may call Friday, 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12 Noon at the church 108 E. 11th Street Lima, Ohio.
