John R. “PeeWee” Austin, 39, of Lima, died at 1:02 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2013, during a tragic accident. He was born Sept. 3, 1974, in Lima, to John L. Brown and Mamie Austin. His mother preceded him in death. His father and his stepmother, Yvonne Brown, survive in Lima.
He was an employee of Quality Ready Mix. He was a 1993 graduate of Perry High School where he was a star in basketball and football.
Survivors also include two sons: Jamere and Jaquarius Austin; a daughter, Janaisha Austin, all of Lima; two special daughters, Kiara and Sharika Watson, and three special grandchildren all of Lima. A brother, Alan Jerome Brown of Tacoma, WA and a maternal grandmother, Bessie Austin of Lima also survive. He also leaves behind a host of Aunts, Uncles, close cousins and special friends.
He is also preceded in death by a maternal grandfather, John Austin, Sr., who raised him; paternal grandparents, John and Lucille Brown, and a special uncle, Victor Austin.
His funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2013, at the SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME, with Pastor Robert Toney officiating the service. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
