

He is survived by his daughter: Lolita Griffin of Clarksburg, WV, his grandchildren: Lawrence L. Griffin, Jr of Lima, Moniqua R. Lasenby and Kalilah D. Lasenby both of Clarksburg, Kalito R. Lasenby of Lima, 4 great grandchildren, his siblings: Florence Cox of Clarksburg, Dick Black of Toledo, Homer Griffin of Lima, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, an aunt, and friends. He was married to Neadine (Henderson) Griffin who survives in Lima, Ohio.
Lawrence retired from Ford Motor Company after 38 ½ years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict, and also served in the National Guard for over 24 years total service, receiving a variety of honors, medals and recognitions.
Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by his siblings: Blanche Griffin, Flossie Jean McCloud, Virginia Taylor, Paul “Sonny” Black and Martha Walker.
Mr. Griffin was a member and drove the van for the youth ministry of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. He was known as the "Candy Man" at church.He was a 1961 graduate of Shawnee High School. He liked fishing and spending time with his family and friends.He loved the young people and children.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Fayne Wise officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery where Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by VFW Post 1275.
Family and friends may call Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home.
