Marion Junior "Junior" Sawyer

Marion “Junior” Sawyer, 83 of Lima, passed away Thursday December 19, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Mousie, Kentucky on April 19, 1930 to Marion Sawyer Sr. and Parrot (Sparkman) Phillips and they preceded him in death. On March 6, 1948 he married Lura Smith and she died July 21, 2013.

Junior is survived by his children: Sharlene (Arnold) Beverly of Lima, Joi (Bob) Lauck of Harrod, Donna (Tim) Nickles of Lima and Sean (Angela) Sawyer of Cincinnati. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren, one great great grandson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons Glen, Dewey and Marion Sawyer and also three sisters and five brothers.

Mr. Sawyer was the owner of Sawyer Construction until retirement. He had been in construction most of his life and worked the Delph Pipeline. He was a member of the NRA, loved his family and also enjoyed spending time at his home in Tennessee.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 23, 2013 at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Tim Lewis officiating.

Family and friends may call Sunday, December 22 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again Monday 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
