

Mary Viola Rose, 85 of Lima passed away 1:38 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at SRMC. She was born January 5, 1925 in Old Forge, Pennsylvania to: Carmine & Rosiara (Lingardo) Cerullo and they precede her in death. On November 11, 1944 she married James Rose and he passed away on June 1, 2008.
“Vi” had worked for the Gruen Watch Company in California, was a seamstress for a dress designer in California . Sewing was a passion she had all of her life. She made many different kinds of clothes and beautiful wedding dresses, she had also made many quilts and whimsical stuffed toys. She was a great cook and will always be remembered for her zaples (Italian fried bread). She enjoyed being a volunteer for SRMC for many years and had been a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 50 years.
Her survivors include a beloved daughter, Diane Bonita Collier of Catskill, NY, her grandchildren: James Brett Rose, Amanda Rose (Glen) Collier Pepple, Danielle (Adam) Fields, Charley (Cate) Collier and Dominic (Andrea) Rose; her great grandchildren: Andria & Allison Gray, Lydia Pepple, Cassandra Rose, Jenna Rose, Maxwell Collier and Sophia Rose Collier. She is also survived by a brother Amedeo (Georgette) Cerullo, a niece, Debbie (Rick) Weinle and a nephew, Dennis (Judy) Cerullo all of Cincinnati, Ohio
Along with her parents, and her husband she was preceded in death by her son: Daniel Richard Rose.
Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home with Father Charles Obinwa, as celebrant. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery alongside her beloved James.
Family and Friends of Mrs. Rose can call Friday evening, October 29, 2010 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Siferd-Orians Funeral Home.
