

Rachel L. Rogers, 85 of Lima passed away at 3:20 p.m. Thursday March 28, 2013 at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Van Wert on May 30, 1927 to Loyd J. & Madge (Craig) Williams and they preceded her in death. In 1954 she married William B. Rogers in Portsmouth, Ohio and he passed away in 1987.
She is survived by her son: Edward J. (Nan) Rogers of Lima; two grandchildren, Renee Rogers of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Shelly (Mike) Newland of Wapakoneta; her great grandchildren, Venus Rogers, Ashlyn Reser, Zachary Reser, Arianna Whited and Joe Rogers. She is also survived by a brother, Ted Williams of Cridersville.
She retired from Western Union after 28 years of service, she then was the dispatcher for Shawnee Township. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Van Wert American Legion, she was a Cincinnati Reds fan and loved Marty Brenneman on the radio. She was a good neighbor who took great pride in watching over them.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Bill Rogers.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., on Monday, April 1, 2013, at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, with Fr. Tim Ferris officiating. Burial will follow in Allentown Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Monday in the funeral home.
