
Arrangements under the direction of Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, Richard W. Dixon, 92 of Lima passed away 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening, Sept 1, 2011 at Springview Manor Nursing Home. He was born on May 18, 1919 in Grand Ledge, Michigan to Claude & Eva Maude (Eby) Dixon and they preceded him in death. On August 21, 1952 he married Catherine M. “Kaye” Kuebler and survives him in Lima.
Richard is also survived by a daughter, Nancy (Floyd “Mick”) Hartung of Lima, two grandchildren, Richard (Andrea) Hartung and Rebecca Hartung and two great grandchildren: T.J. and Andrew.
Along with his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his siblings, Eva Maude Corbin, Iva Nemeth, Clyde, Robert, Arnold, Ralph and Donald Dixon.
Mr. Dixon was employed by the State of Michigan, Department of Aeronautics as an electrical engineer. He was a Master Sergeant serving during WW II in the Army Air Corp; he was on the tarmac at Manila when the Japanese landed to surrender to end World War II. He was a life member of VFW Post 10066 at Jensen Beach, Florida. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Stuart, Florida and also attended Faith Baptist Church in Elida.
Per his wishes he will be cremated. There will be no services or visitation.
