Rita L Godsey

Rita L. “Rat” (Henderson) Godsey, 66, of Lima was called to her heavenly home at 12:22 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Springview Manor Nursing Home. She was born on August 6, 1947 in Lima to Booker T. & Annie (Banks) Henderson and they preceded her in death. She had been married to William L. Godsey and he survives in Lima.

She is survived by her children, Shonda Godsey and William “Lenni” Godsey both of Lima, thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings: Patricia Skipworth, Karen (Houston) McClendon, Elaine (Gary) Copeland, Glenna Gooding, Gloria Horton and Joyce Williams all of Lima; Shirley Copeland of Los Angeles, CA, Wayne Henderson of Ft. Wayne, IN and Terry L. Henderson of Crossville, TN. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Richard Henderson and other brother Gary Henderson.

Rita was a member of the American Legion Ladies Aux Post 96. She had retired from PTC where she had been employed for many years. She was an avid bowler at Century Lanes. She was a wonderful mother, grandma, great grandma, sister and good friend to many.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014 at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME with Apostle Sharon Jefferson officiating.
