Victor Paul Torres

Victor Paul Torres, 60, of Monroe, Ohio, and formerly of Lima, departed on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Hawthorn Glen Nursing Home, Monroe. He was born June 4, 1956, in Lima, to Rosalio D. and Ernestina “Tina” C. (Ozuna) Torres. His mother survives in Monroe.

Also surviving are his siblings: Carlos and Sheila E. (Miller) Torres of Monroe and Yolanda J. (Torres) Gelo of Columbus. He will be forever cherished as the uncle of: Adam E. Rivera, David M. Gelo, Paul C. Ryan and Emily (Ortiz) Ryan, Katie M. (Torres) and Terry Followell, Sarah J. (Ryan) and T.J. Remmetter, Megan A. (Gelo) and Robert D. Green, Mary J. (Ryan) and Armando Huffman; and the great-uncle of: Bailey Marie Followell, Molly Followell, Tier Ryan, Gabriel Followell, McKenzie Gelo, Anthony Ortiz, Rylee Gelo, Olivia Green, Matthew Ryan and Mason Green.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rosalio “Charlie” Torres; paternal grandparents Florencio D. and Petra D. Torres; maternal grandparents Cristobal Q. and Andrea R. Ozuna; uncle Raul Mendez, nephew Anthony “Tony” M. Gelo; and sister Stella J. (Torres) Ryan.

Victor was a 1977 graduate of Robin Rogers School and Marimor School, Lima. He was employed at Marimor Industries, Lima, Middletown Center and Easter Seals, both in Middletown, OH, retiring in 2016. He was active in Robin Rogers Day Camp, Ohio Special Olympics and Marimor Bowling Leagues.

Victor’s love of music, dance, concerts, wrestling, travelling and his love for all the ladies brought joy and happiness to all who were fortunate to have met him.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 8, 2017 at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church, Lima, with Fr. Mike Sergi officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemani Cemetery.

Visitation for Victor will be on Friday, Apr. 7, from 4-8 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, where a Parish Wake Service will begin at 8:00 p.m.
