Violet L Gipson

Violet Louise Gipson, 68, of Lakeview, passed away 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was born November 10, 1949 in Lima to Richard and Faye (Lancaster) Thompson, they preceded her in death. On December 24, 1967 she married Kenneth Ray Gipson and he passed away in 1989.

Mrs. Gipson is survived by her children, Tony Ray (Dorothy) Gipson of Lakeview, Kevin Ray Gipson of Lakeview, and Vicky Renea (Don) Miller of Harrod, A son, Kenneth Ray Gipson, Jr. passed away in 1974. She is also survived by her siblings, Neomi (Raymond) Sroufe, Emma Jean (Lee) Spears, Evelyn (Paul) Keasler, Connie (Richard) Workman and Faye (Rick) Cooper; ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren with one on the way; and a special friend, Bruce Finney of Lakeview. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Viola (Jim) Goodwin, Alberta (Joe) Allen, her brothers, Richard Thompson, Jr and Robert “Bobby” Thompson.

Mrs. Gipson was an owner/operator truck driver. She attended Perry Schools, she was an extremely caring person that loved her family very much.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2017 at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME with Rev Tom Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Shawnee Cemetery. Family and friends may call Friday, 12 Noon until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m.
