

Virginia “Ginny” Elizabeth Timmermeister, 91, of Lima, died at 6:20 p.m., Thursday, March 01, 2012, at Lima Memorial Health Systems. She was born August 10, 1920, in Miami, OK, to Frank E. and Letha (McCoy) Zajic who preceded her in death. On May 20, 1944, in Augusta, AR, she married John W. Timmermeister who died March 5, 2003.
Mrs. Timmermeister was a member of Market Street Presbyterian Church, the Delphian Club, the Junior Service League, and Modern Mothers and had volunteered for Lima Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Lima Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Mrs. Timmermeister had worked at a bomb factory during World War II in Missouri. She had been a singer for weddings, funerals and speakeasies. She had taken her solo flight towards a pilot’s license. She loved to drive, walk, visit and was always effervescent. She loved people and never met a stranger. She loved her immediate family as well as her extended family
Surviving are a son: William C. Timmermeister of Lima; a daughter: Kay Lois Timmermeister of Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren: Brian J. (Betsy) Timmermeister, Karin T. (Christopher) Brown, Dane Edwin Shields and Kathleen S. Jameson; eleven great-grandchildren: Berkley Brown, Ramsey Brown, Noah Timmermeister, Joel Timmermeister, Ivy R. Jameson, John T. Jameson, Wyatt Shields, Aiden Shields, Skylie Shields, Aaralyn Shields and Ava Shields.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Susan Timmermeister and two brothers, Marion F. Zajic and Richard M. Zajic.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Bucher officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, from 2-5 p.m. in the funeral home.
