He was preceded in death by his first wife of 37 years, Beverly Jean Allison, his father, Arthur Campbell Allison, brother Fleming Pope, and sister, Nevada Ramos.
His greatest occupation was in the education field, where he taught 7th grade at Browns Elementary School in Rio Oso, CA, and later at Del Oro High School in Loomis, where he taught Chemistry for years as Doc Allison. It was never surprising to run into former students who thought the world of him. In between Browns and Del Oro, he went back to school at UC Davis, and got a PhD in Plant Pathology. While teaching at Del Oro, he also started an orchid virus testing business as well as running the family ranch with Beverly. After Beverly passed away, at 60 he hung up his teaching duties and headed off to England where he married Vivienne, and spent 26 years enjoying a new country with trips home usually twice a year.

On Monday, November 28th, there will be a short graveside service at the cemetery on 1st Street in Lincoln at 11am, with a gathering out at the ranch afterward.
