Curtis Paul Balko
December 6, 1934 – January 16, 2019
Curtis P. Balko and Lois M. Balko (Curt and Lois) slipped the bonds of earth in love to remain together today, tonight, and for all tomorrows. Together for 60 years they passed on Wednesday, January 16th.
As eternal partners they embraced family, enjoyed friends and strangers alike, were active in the community of and in service to the Catholic Church, cared for and provided guidance to their children and grandchildren, traveled far and wide, tended to their home, and most importantly remained steadfast in their devotion to each other in life, and now beyond.
Curt and Lois are survived by their children, Daryl, Katie, Rob, and Doug, and their eleven grandchildren. May they and we find peace not in being consoled but by consoling, for it is in giving that we receive. Mom/Grandma and Dad/Grandpa, till we meet again. Your loving children and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lincoln, CA, on Wednesday, February 13 at 11:00 AM to celebrate their lives and their wedding anniversary; the service will be preceded by reciting the Rosary at 10:30 AM. Their children request that any contributions be directed to charitable organizations in their honor.

I am saddened by the loss of Curt and Lois. He was an inspiration to me and one of the reasons I joined the Air Force. I recall many stories from his folks Bill and Leona. I took piano lessons from Leona for many years and remember Bill watching Fat Albert on Saturday mornings. They were very proud of Curt and his service. Always fun hearing the story of him buzzing Almena with the Jet. Locals thought we were under attack, cows jumped fences. And then to hear Curt explain how he seen his mom shaking her fist at him. My thoughts and prayers to everyone, he will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn. Curt was my cousin and we shared family events when we were young.
