Harold Grant Ericksen, 93, of Lincoln, California, passed peacefully into eternal life on October 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and fortified by the Last Rites of the Catholic Church. A man of unwavering integrity, dedication, generosity, and rugged individualism, Harold gave his very best to everything he did.
Born in Syracuse, Utah, to Grant and Edith Ericksen, Harold lived a remarkable life grounded in his Catholic faith, hard work, patriotism, and devotion to family.
He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War aboard the aircraft carrier USS Princeton, participating in combat operations against communist forces. His exceptional dedication earned him the distinction of “Outstanding Plane Captain” for maintaining the flight readiness of Corsair aircraft in Fighter Squadron VF-192. Following his military service, Harold traveled the Pan-American Highway with his young family to Panama, where he served as a Boarding Officer on the Panama Canal. In this role, he climbed aboard passing vessels to authorize their passage through the canal.
Harold later enjoyed a distinguished 32-year career as a nuclear engineer with General Electric. His work ensuring the safe and efficient operation of nuclear reactors took him around the world and across the length and breadth of the nation he loved.
For more than 25 years, Harold enjoyed retirement in Sun City Lincoln Hills, pursuing his passion for classic sports cars. A devoted Catholic and parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church, he was also a proud Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus.
