He was born in San Francisco on January 14, 1940 and graduated from San Francisco State University in 1962. He was commissioned a 2nd Lt. in USAF in 1962 and served in the US Air Force and California Air National Guard. He served as Commander of the 162nd Combat Communications Group in Sacramento for many years. His last assignment was in the Air Staff at the Pentagon, from which he retired in 1996 with the rank of Major General. He enjoyed RV travel with his wife and beloved dog, Maddy, in his retirement years. He was preceded in death by parents Harris and Marian Henderson.
He is survived by wife, Joyce Henderson of Lincoln, sister Carol Schultz of Campbell, CA, children Christopher and Jeannine and grandchildren, Taylor, Nico, Hannah, Sofia and Brooke.
Family and friends are welcome to attend recitation of the Rosary at 5:00 p.m on Thursday, August 9th and Funeral mass on Friday August 10th at 10:00 a.m. Both services will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 280 Oak Tree Lane, Lincoln, CA. A reception will be held following mass at the Parish Hall at 6th & D Street, Lincoln.
