Joseph Leo Accurso

Joseph L. Accurso was born on August 22, 1944 in Akron, Ohio, and passed away on March 22, 2021 in Roseville, California.

Joseph is preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Louise Accurso, and twin sisters, Vita Vislavsky and Clara Flanagan. He is survived by wife Leslie, daughter Dina Mencarini and her husband Joe, and son Joseph Accurso and his wife Mary. He was Grandpa to Michael and Sydney Mencarini, and Isabella, Joey, Sarah, Virginia and Maria.

Joe attended Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron, Ohio and graduated from the University of Akron. He went into the Air Force after college and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the USAF Reserves. His entire professional career was in the I.T. field, retiring from the City of Roseville.

Joe enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, playing golf, and cheering on his favorite two Ohio teams, the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns. He was very dedicated to the Knights of Columbus at St. Joseph Parish, where he made life-long friends. But the most important thing in his life was spending time with his family and friends. A funeral mass will be held on April 19, 2021 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 280 Oak Tree Lane, Lincoln, Ca. Following the service there will be an informal reception at Ride To Walk (Ranch), 1630 Ca-193, Lincoln, Ca (across from Turkey Creek Golf Course).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society or The American Heart Association.

Joe, knowing you, you will be doing great things at your next journey. You will be miss. You were a great man and friend to many of us at FTB. I still remember the day many of us went skiing for the first time and took a skiing class. It was such a blast :)
