Louisa is preceded in death by her mother Stella Alberta Whisler, her father Isaac Earl Whisler, her sister Alberta Brand, and brothers Charles, Carl, Raymond, Jasper, and Gary Whisler. She is survived by her daughters Veronica Macaulay and Teresa Thomas, her sister Betty Whisler, grandsons Michael Thomas, Jr. and Blake Thomas, and several in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Louisa is also survived by many members of the Torres family, with whom she maintained a close relationship in the years proceeding her divorce from Jerry Torres, her high school sweetheart and dear friend.
Louisa found joy in sewing and crocheting. She was creative and generous with her talents. Many people, infants and adults alike, have been wrapped in her handmade blankets. Louisa was known for her homemade banana bread, often giving it away to loved ones during the holidays. She adored handmade gifts, both giving and receiving. Louisa enjoyed long walks in nature, which she shared often with her daughters throughout the years. She recently discovered that she enjoyed painting, which she'd only just begun to explore. Most of all, Louisa enjoyed spending quality time with those she loved. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her kindness, her joyful laugh, and her warm generosity.
Honoring Louisa's wishes for a modest memorial, family and friends are invited to a celebration of life at the Torres family home at 763 Mooney Ave., San Lorenzo, CA 94580 on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 12:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. www.bcrf.org
